DOWN WITH WINTER !!!!

DOWN WITH WINTER!
DOWN WITH WINTER!
I've felt so long old frigid winter's breath,
I've come to look on him with great disdain.
I eagerly await his pending death
So I can see azaleas bloom again.
I yearn for tepid breeze and gentle rain;
I wish the snow would melt and roll away.
I crave the warming of a sunny day
When mockingbirds and robins gaily sing.
I want to watch the squirrels run and play.
I'm tired of cold -- I much prefer the spring!

DOWN WITH WINTER! That is how I am feeling! I have heard adults, yes, adults saying how much they are enjoying the snow, and always wanting more, more, more! Well, they are getting it, and I sincerely hope they are enjoying it. As for me, and one of my co-workers... we only got to work one day out of 5 this week (and with out pay, since we are still part time). That's the pits! Anyway, what I am missing is the simple things.. for one, the birds singing, boy do I love that! Also watching the flowers come up, and beginning to plant tomatoes, peppers and onions, the stores are wonderful as far as caring a fair amount of produce, but they just don't taste like good ole home grown! But you know that the kids are surely enjoying the weather, if for no other reason then to be missing school! I loved it too when I was growing up, but it didn't happen as often back then. We went to school quite often with snow on the ground. Even though this time was completely understandable, with all the ice and snow we have had, and all that's yet to come. I would have really dreaded going out in this! Especially the ice! It's so dangerous to drive in, and even harder when you live in the country or have to drive the extra miles like my oldest son. God Bless him and his willingness to drive as far as he does every day to and from work. We are thankful for his safety! He is a very loving and gentle husband, father and son and we pray for his safety daily. Then again, we pray for all of our family and extended family, our friends, loved ones, our neighbors, our co-workers, and our country on a daily basis. We pray for each of us to grow, spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially and God's blessings on each and every one of them. Especially the children! How wonderful they are!
Today has been a variety of this 'winter storm' here, mainly snow. First it was just very small flakes, then as the day went on they got bigger, and back and forth. But as Norman says, no matter what the size was " it was just putting it down". And it's adding up too, especially when you look outside and see all the snow we still had, then this added to it! To much!!! Yes, I firmly believe, no, I know that the good Lord knows what He's doing with the weather among every thing else, and I know we have to trust Him and His judgement... but I can't help still to wish and dream of warmer weather. God is really good, and I am the first to say this, and I am so glad that He didn't leave such decisions to us humans. We seem not to get along about very much, so who knows what kind of problems we would give this world if we were in charge of the weather. Lord knows we've done more than our part (humans, I mean) of messing every thing else up!
So, among everything else, it's wonderful and comforting to know that He wouldn't leave such important matters up to humans! Thank You God, how wonderful You are! Our God is an awesome God, for sure! And I am thankful and always try to give Him the praise and thanks for all things. Even though He knows our hearts, even better than we do.
I am thankful that we had a payday recent enough that we could afford to be prepared for this storm. And we are thankful that so far we still have our electricity , because with it, we have lights, heat and the power to pump the water from the well. So in saying we still have electric, we are saying a lot! And we are thankful for all of it too! We have been without, and it's no fun! Also, we are thankful that all these many trees that surround our house (we live in the woods) is still standing tall, how wonderful! So being prepared is awesome... Hummm, PREPARED, for this I was talking about having plenty of food and sodas, milk and such in the house, having electric and phone, the necessities of these days. But being prepared for our next life is even more important, and something we should be always ready for, because we just never know from one second to the next when the Lord will come for us, or take us to be with Him. Anyway, I hope that you and yours are prepared, in both ways! Our love and prayers are with you. It's a great feeling, being prepared! Don't you agree?
Our God is an Awesome God
Our God is an awesome God,
He reigns from Heaven above.
With wisdom, power and love,
Our God is an awesome God!
Wishing for you and yours, a safe, healthy and happy time, while we are all pretty much snowed in. Thankfully we don't have to go out for anything for a few days, unless of course some
un-foreseen emergency. Anyway, STAY SAFE! Love and prayers always, Patty
