GO SAINTS !
Yes, I am all for the 'saints' but not the kind you may have been thinking of on Febuary 7th. 2010 (no, I'm not so much a football fan, and I have got to admit, I much prefer the saints I am more accustom to : )Proverbs 2:8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Even though they did have a Super bowl party at the new church Sunday evening. It was rather nice.. (I had never been to one before) Started out with everyone taking food! (we are baptist after all : ) We shared a nice prayer, and huge mixture of food for supper.. Then on to the ball game and lots of fellowship. When it was half time, they did some kind of HUDDLE UP game for the many teenagers that were there.. (they do this super bowl night in behalf of the teenagers) Anyway they had a game popper (you know like for sorry or something like that, a plastic base with a dome with one dice in it that rolls when you press down on the dome...) that was to keep the score. They divided the teens into two teams, and one person at a time took turns popping the dome to find out what the correct answer was worth (points) Then the team was ask a Bible question, and they could 'huddle up' and come up with an answer... They really did quite well!

Then back to the ball game. Some even went back for more food before the game was over.
It was different, and nice for a change. Unique, for sure.
The morning meeting was church only (due to all this snow) but again you could feel the love of God and the 'saints' there. They believe just what we believe and go strictly by the Bible and that is great, and again 'what we believe'. And even they sing the same songs and type of songs that we were used to. So, it's just a smaller version of the church we had been attending and loved so very much. (Just a lot closer to our home) We will always love the 'saints' from our other church, but we will learn to love the 'saints' here too! As our dear choir director (from the other church) always said "Lord's willing" He is a very precious, God serving man and HIS love flows through the very being of this wonderful gentleman I am speaking of. He and his wife are so precious. He actually reminds me so much of my father, his patience, and his gentle kindness and the love he shows all the time, even the way he preaches, reminds me so much of my Dad.
I hope to always feel close to them, even though we aren't seeing them regularly anymore, as well as the rest of the Senior pastor and the other assistant pastor, and the other people there... 'all the earthly saints'. It too is a very loving, wonderful place to go.. and God is always there!
When the Saints Go Marching In
Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Lord, I want to be in that number,
When the saints go marching in.
