MEET MY GRANDPARENTS, THE CLARKS

THE LATE MR AND MRS JOHN CLARK
JOHN AND ELLA MAE 'TYREE' CLARK
Taken before 1965
Yes, Grandma was in her pajamas, it was her favorite thing to wear.
She was like my daughter n law "Kim", she went to bed EARLY and got up EARLY! She always wore her pajamas until after she was done with the breakfast dishes (which "every time you did dishes, it also meant sweeping the kitchen and mopping it") not many people think that way today. Like I said, she would get up early, and brush her long, long black hair (with one streak of white) put it up in a bun, then sit with a fresh cup of hot coffee, and play solitaire for a few games, until it was time to fix breakfast. Then she would fix breakfast and get Granddad up (at 5:30) to eat, dress and go to work at Westvaco. He retired at age 65 in 1968 and they moved to Fort Pierce Florida, she loved the warm/hot days, and fishing!
Both of them were of Indian parents, Grandma's Mother was a full breed Cherokee (her name was Willy, but she died when Grandma was in the second grade) her Father was from a Indian lady and a White man.. but he was really dark skinned too. Granddad's parents were nearly the same. He had a tiny, short little "pipe smoking Mother" I remember meeting her once, but I didn't hear much about his father. I don't know if what tribe of Indians Grandma's Dad was from, or Granddad's parents. I know they now call them Native Americans, but my Grandma very proudly called her parents INDIANS, and wasn't ashamed, or embarrassed by them. She (as you can tell, really looked Indian also) Hummm, I wonder if Indian ladies wore their hair up in a bun? Grandma sure did, it was the only way I ever saw her hair, unless she was washing or brushing it. She passed away at the age of 68 with bone cancer (in 1974), and Granddad died at the age of 70 with a stroke (in 1976). They were loving Grandparents, THANKS GOD!
I found this little joke I thought was rather cute:
Married Fifty Years! On their 50th wedding anniversary, a couple summed up the reason for their long and happy marriage. The husband said, "I have tried never to be selfish. After all, there is no 'I' in the word 'marriage.'"The wife said, "For my part, I have never corrected my husband's spelling."

Deuteronomy 4:9 Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, Proverbs 17:6 Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father.

Dear Father, thank You for Jesus, and for His sacrifice He made on my behalf, Thank You for
forgiving and saving me. Thank You for our Grandparents, and Your blessed assurance that we will be with them again, please give them a hug for us.Thank you for our loving parents. (please also hug our Dad's for us) Father I ask You please to dull Mom's pain in her back and legs so it will be easier and more bearable for her, also that You will bless her breathing and help it not to be so labored. Thank You for my husband, our family, our extended family, our church family, our friends, neighbors, and our co-workers. Bless each of them spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially please and thank You. Help each of us to be drawn closer to You and more pleasing to You. Father we give You our thanks, along with the praise, honor and glory in all things, in Jesus name, amen.
HER FAVORITE SONG:

Amazing Grace Lyrics

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace.
vv ... her favorite verse ... vv
When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
