MY BROTHER 'T.H.' AND I
Notice of course that I had my legs crossed 'just like my brother' or my version of it! And of course, I always had a kitten, and if not a kitten then of my baby dolls. This picture was taken up Dry Run in Covington, but my parents called it "Up In The Holler" : } go figure! He was my buddy back then, but since we've grown up, we rarely ever see each other. He was a 'special big brother' even though is not the oldest brother. I have four brothers, two older and two younger and I have three sisters one older and two younger plus one sister died at just less than 24 hours old. But growing up, he was always my buddy! (or I thought so) He is two years, two months and 7 days older than I am. We figured that out way back when also, and never forgot! Funny the things we remember.He an I played all kinds of things, and he could get me to do just about anything. Back then dolls were made of rubber and stuffing.. This place we lived had a small creek out front and he talked me into pulling all the stuffing out of two of my dolls and filling them with water... then we would pop the heads back on and step on them popping the heads at each other blasting water a good ways... we would get just soaking wet, and thought it was more fun than swimming. (what he didn't tell me was at the end of the day, I was less two dolls.. as the creek had taken the stuffing on down stream and I had nothing to re-fill my dolls with. But I was told (by Mom) that he loved me up and it was all okay. He had told me we could keep those two to use in the creek and the other doll I had could be my only doll. Somehow, I trusted him, and all was well.
Another time, he talked me into playing barber shop with him. Well, he says.. I am the oldest so I'll be the barber and you come and sit down and I'll cut your hair. Well, he really did cut my hair and Mom said I didn't have a hair longer than an inch when he was done, and it was shorter than that when she tried to straighten it out! But, we had fun playing! Geez, don't we do really silly things when we are young? Mom threw a FIT, and all we could do was giggle at each other.
I saw this little joke that I felt like fit right in with this picture and stories... Here it is:
The Two Cent Tomato!
A small boy was looking at the red ripe tomatoes growing in the farmer's garden. "I'll give you my two pennies for that tomato," said the boy pointing to a beautiful, large, ripe fruit hanging on the vine."No," said the farmer, "I get a dime for a tomato like that one."The small boy pointed to a smaller green one, "Will you take two pennies for that one?" "Yes," replied the farmer, "I'll give you that one for two cents." "OK," said the lad, sealing the deal by putting the coins in the farmer's hand, "I'll pick it up in about a week."
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.
Dear God, thank You for memories, those of long ago as well as all the newer memories we have. Help us to enjoy and share them with others. We thank You for Jesus and all of His sacrifice He made on our behalf. Thank You for our family, (we love them all so much) Thank You also for the closeness we share. Thank You for our extended families, our church family (both old and new), thank You for all of our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and leaders (bless them Father and help them to remember to put You first in all their decisions) Please be with Mom and help her, again today she was feeling very bad, and sounded really bad and still short winded. She was to sick yesterday to even go to Gene's birthday party (as much as she wanted to be there) Be with Gene too please and help him with his feet swelling up so big! Father be with the soldiers and their family's, bless and comfort them and place Your protection upon them. Help us at work Lord, things just are not the way they should be, also help the two of us to get on full time, or be offered other full time jobs with benefits. Father, we ask Your guidance, and blessings for each of us.. spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially. And we praise and thank You Father for all things giving You the honor, and glory and our sincere thanks in Jesus holy name, amen.
AGAIN, I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE COMMENTS TO DO SO, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! GOD BLESS!
