This story tells not of youngsters
and the way they spend their days.
It's all about us old folks
and our fuddy-duddy ways.

Sometimes it's hard to figure
what life is all about.
My brain is finally working,
now my body's giving out.

Or perhaps I'm right on schedule
for a very special date. 
My body's running right on time,
but my mind is running late. 

Well, what does it all matter
in the scheme and theme of things
as long as I find comfort
in the joy that laughter brings?

I'll share these tales with others,
so they might find laughter too.
You can bet your bottom dollar
the tales will all be true.













And when you've finished reading
about folks like you and me,
you'll be surprised and pleased to know
you're as normal as can be!

Come on dears... you just have to take growing old with a grain of salt!  Each day you are only one day older than you were the day before... God has us covered.. we just have to trust and believe in Him.

At my age happy hour is nap time.

At my age rolling out of bed in the morning is easy...getting up off the floor is another story.

• Don't worry about avoiding temptation--as you grow older, it starts avoiding you.
• Don't worry about wrinkles, they're just antique smiles.
• Few women admit their age. Few men act theirs.

Praying for you and yours that God will wrap His loving arms around each of you and bless each of you spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, financially and with His awesome and prefect love, grace, forgiveness, guidance, and mercies, and a special answer to each of your "unspoken prayers" (asking too that you'll pray for others and our unspoken prayers and giving thanks) Praying for all those that are sick, hurting, grieving, lonely, jobless, homeless and all the abused and bullied of all ages! God please touch each of the above and give them protection and guidance, and the blessings they need the most, as only You know what each of the problems are and ONLY YOU can handle each of them. Praying for our country, and it's leaders that they will do Your will for our country and it's people. Praying for our soldiers, that You will protect each of them and bring them safely home. And today and daily giving You our love, thanks, honor, praise and glory in Jesus Holy Name, amen.

the coolness this morning and the dampness in the air just feels like perhaps the calm before the storm.. 

Isaiah 41:1(NKJV) 'Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

We were planning to take a family trip to Amherst Va later today for the "Homecoming get together" It is all Monacans (and their families) , and we had high hopes to get to know some of "our people" .. But, with this weather possibly coming... I can't help but to think we'll just be better off to stay at home.. To make matters worse, our precious dog HomerJoe is terrified of storms.. I just cannot leave him this weekend knowing how afraid he gets, and how windy and bad this storm could possibly be. And, I am wondering if they won't just cancel it and combine this one and the fall one coming up on the (maybe 27) of this month? Makes since.. If not.. hopefully there will be much better weather next year. But, just in case they still have it.. praying for travel mercies for all who are going, love, and closeness, along with God's blessings to each of them.

The Rainbow Story

Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel: all claimed that they were the best, the most important, the most useful, the favorite.

Green said: "Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope. I was chosen for grass, leaves, trees--without me, all animals would die. Look out over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."

Blue interrupted: "You only think about the Earth, but consider the sky and sea. It is the water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea. The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all be nothing."

Yellow chuckled. "You are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth to the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow. Ever time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me, there would be no fun."

Orange started next to blow her temper. "I am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce but I am precious for I serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangos, and pawpaws. I don't hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."

Red could stand it no longer. He shouted out: "I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood! Life's blood. I am the color of danger and of bravery. I am willing to fight for a cause. I bring fire to the blood! I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poppy and the poinsettia. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon!"

Purple rose up to his full height. He was very tall and spoke with great pomp: "I am the color of royalty and power. Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me for I am a sign of authority and wisdom. People do not question me. They obey."

Finally, Indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others but with just as much determination: "think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me, you all become superficial. I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace."

And so all the colors went on boasting and quarreling, each convinced

of their own superiority. Soon, their quarreling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening! Thunder rolled and boomed! Rain started to pour down relentlessly. The colors crouched down in fear drawing close to one another for comfort.

In the midst of the clamor, Rain began to speak: "You foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest.

Don't you know you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me."

Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands. The rain continued: "From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of colors as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow."

And so, whenever a good rain washes the world and a rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another.

all of that was "just for fun" We all know that God makes rainbows as a reminder: 

Genesis 9:12-13 (NKJV) 12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1. There shall be showers of blessing:
   This is the promise of love;
   There shall be seasons refreshing,
   Sent from the Savior above.

AND HURRICANE TOO"

Thank you GOD for the rainbow, and it's true purpose, and beauty. Please Lord, we pray for safety of all, and our pets, homes and such as well. Thank You Lord for all Your mercies and blessings!

Praying for you and yours that God will wrap His loving arms around each of you and bless you spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially and with His unconditional and perfect love, forgiveness, guidance, grace, and mercies. Praying for all the flood victims.. and the latest school shooting victims and their families. (praying also for the family of the shooter.. he was someone child gone wrong) Praying for everyone that get's abused in any way.. even verbally or disrespected (probably the most common) but for the victims of every type of abuse.. The children and the elderly especially, but... everyone! Praying for those of unhappiness.. the jobless, the homeless, the sick, hurting and grieving, that GOD will touch the lives of everyone and give you comfort, healing, mercies and grace. Praying for our soldiers and policemen their safety. Praying sincerely for our country and its people.. that they will once again turn to God, and be filled with love, kindness, respect and compassion. Thanks God for being with everyone of us during this storm, and all the storms (of every type). AND GIVING HIM MY LOVE, THANKS, HONOR, PRAISE AND GLORY IN ALL THINGS IN JESUS PRECIOUS AND HOLY NAME, AMEN.

Did you know that not all scarecrows are happy, or scary, good or bad.. READ THIS STORY...

How could anyone think that scarecrows are all good? Well they aren't all bad either.. (just like normal people).. but this one in the story below I feel sure had one major change of heart.. only to late for his dear Mother...

My mom only had one eye

My mom only had one eye. She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for people to support the family. There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out (like a spoiled brat). The next day at school one of my classmates said, “EEEE, your mom only has one eye!” I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, “Why do you come around me at school, if you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock?” My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a

second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings. I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren. When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her,

and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, “How dare you come to my house and scare my children! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!” And to this, my mother quietly answered, “Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address.” – and she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a  reunion came to 

my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip, to embarrassed for her to see my Mom, and know she was alive all these years, I had lied and said she was dead. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity. 

My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

“My dearest son, I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children, I just wanted to see my grandchildren. From what I saw, they are beautiful, but I didn't mean to scare them, I only wanted to meet them at least one time before I go.  I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you, I have been very ill. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up. You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gladly gave you mine. I was so proud of you, my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. With all my love to you, Your mother.”           Author Unknown

Speaking of dancing, two of our 5 grandchildren went to the Homecoming Dance night before last. Saturday night 9/26/15 From what I have been told and read, everyone pretty much had a wonderful time! And giving thanks that all were "SAFE"..  Thanks GOD

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn’t flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance. When I saw "G" I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i". "God," "u" and "i" dance." God, you and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

ABOVE ALL, PRAYING THAT YOU WILL LEARN TO BE HAPPY, GRANT TIMES TO JUST DANCE (LIKE NO ONE IS LOOKING) BLESS OUR COUNTRY, IT'S PROTECTORS.. PRAYING FOR OUR COUNTRY THAT THEY WILL BE LED TO TURN BACK TO YOU BEFORE IT'S TO LATE. AND GIVING THANKS FOR ALL THINGS IN JESUS HOLY NAME, AMEN.
