Another memory from day's gone by. This second snow brought it on.. when I was young my Grandmother used to say (when one snow hung around for days, and days) "it's waiting around for the next one" She was a loving grandmother, and we were blessed to have her. She left this world way to soon (at 68 years of age, another victim of cancer, she had bone cancer) She has been with our Lord for 35 years plus now, will be 36 in March. I still miss her. Ella Mae, my grandmother. Gee, come to think of it, I was only 20 when she died, just had turned 20 in fact earlier that month. Seems like a different lifetime! I'll see her again, she waits for me.
Another 2 & 1/2 to 3 inches of snow.. gee, just what we all wanted. I find as I get older that I like the winter, well, winter weather less and less... must be an old person thing, or because of arthritis.. Even the dull days of winter seem to wear on my bones.. Enough complaining though.
God is so good! I was reminded again this morning of how wonderfully smart my grandchildren are. I couldn't love them more if I tried! I feel sometimes now that I love them enough to burst!
They are all so smart with reading, computers, camera's, games all gadgets seems like. Let alone beautiful (and my one grandson is handsome), healthy, happy, well rounded, love and respect filled people! That's a lot to be thankful for, and believe me we are!
Still praying for my Mother, she seems to have way more "bad days" as she calls them than good days. It is hard knowing, hearing (in her voice) and seeing her go through all of this, but I know that God is with her and knows how much she can bear. Norman's mother is also aged, but surprisingly healthy! Thank goodness.
We are thankful for our health. Sometimes all you have to do is look around, or look in the news paper to find out that you are so blessed. There are a lot of people out there in a lot worse shape than the two of us are. I for one am trying to not forget this nor to be always grateful for all our blessings and health.
Going into this quickly coming New Year..
I think we all need to pray for our country, and it's leaders (no matter if you voted for them or not, or voted at all) They are the one's there now and all of them need our prayers. They have a job that I certainly would not want to have. Mostly, I pray that our country turns back to the Lord, it would surely make a difference. Yet I am reminded that, no matter what He is still in control, and so I guess all I need to pray is that His will be done. Today, I'll leave with this.
JEREMIAH 29: 11-13 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
