A fond old memory of days gone by

this picture is of my brother and me.. taken even years before the memory I am going to share now.. hope you enjoy it .... it's a fond memory for sure.
this memory was brought to mind when Norman and I were watching a Disney movie the other night ... it wasn't even the movie that caused my mind to recall, but the Disney music itself...
when my brother and I were much younger than we are now : } ... well, probably early teenagers or perhaps just a little younger.. On Sunday evenings after church (sometimes) Dad or Mom would agree for us to ride the church 'station wagon' and get off at Grandma's house (for just a short while) She lived a very short walking distant from our house, (in Mallow) so we later just walked back home. IF we were lucky, we also were occasionally allowed to stay and watch the Disney Movie with Grandma, (she was a loving grandma for sure) She would fix us the three of us popcorn and either hot choc (in the winter) or a half glass of soda (in the summer) and sit with us to watch it!!! We grew up with a lot of kids at home, so to have a little time away from most of them was a treat, let alone spending the 'special time' with Grandma. She would always take time to talk to us about the movie while it was playing, and later talk to us about school, or being out of school, or church, or just anything for a little 'personal time' with her... it always meant so much. Funny how just a little music could bring to mind such wonderful memories. I try to be an attentive grandmother myself, and hope that someday my precious grandchildren will think that I have helped them make some special memories too. I surely love all my precious grandchildren and they just couldn't mean more to my husband and me... they are all super precious to us. God has surely blessed us with loving grandchildren and we are so thankful. Love and prayers to each of you.
