MEET THE WILSONS (one of my storys about the house)

Meet Mr and Mrs Gabriel Wilson

When Gabriel was a fairly young boy of 12 year old, he met Betsy Ann Jones at school. Betsy and her family were new in their country neighborhood, and Betsy was in the same school as Gabriel. Back then it was a common occurrence for many classes to be taught by one teacher in one small little country school. Miss Lawrence was their teacher and Gabriel was in the 6th grade and Betsy was in the 5th grade. They quickly became good friends and shared many experiences over the many years of their childhood. When they finished the 9th grade, they were wed! (Many only went through the 9th grade back then, he was nearly 16 and she was 15, many back then were ages similar when they were married.

Betsy's grandparents, Clyde and Cecilia Thompson left Betsy their house in their will.. It was a very becoming white house that sat in the woods. Down the meadow a ways was a very nice pond surrounded by their garden area, and her grandma's flower area. And across the old dirt road was the pasture for the 2 cows, 1 bull, 4 goats, and a small chicken park. So, this lovely old house was where the couple spent their whole married lives. It was such a sweet, love filled home and they were both so grateful to have a house of their own to raise their family in the years to come. And come they did, they had many children, beginning with Clyde Jr, then Frances, Mildred, Walter (named after Gabriel grandfather). Next came 'Lil Cecilia' (named after Betsy's loving Grandmother), Martha was next followed by Joseph and Janine (the twins) and then to finish their family off was another set of twins named Wilbur and Wilma. God had truly blessed them and they were packed in their little two story house, but it was a love filled 'home', and they were both very grateful!

Later in life, Betsy and Gabriel also raised a few of their grandchildren.. Their names were Michael, Loretta, and 'Lil Gabriel' (named after his grandfather) Betsy and Gabriel had taken good care of their home, and love for God and for family had been their way of life. It was the lesson that they tried really hard to bestow upon their family. Every night over the 66 years (at that point) that they were married, they prayed for their families, their friend and neighbors and their home. Gabriel was put in a nursing home at the age of 82 for having a bad heart. But Betsy visited him daily and brought him back home after just 4 weeks and 3 days, and they were both Grateful! He lived to be a nice old age of 103.. she passed away 6 days later, she was 102.

They had prayed so faithfully for their family, that God had promised them to keep their house livable for as long as they had on earth, then He would personally take care of matters. Betsy and Gabriel were both in His wishes and in HIS will for health, happiness, grace, and His guidance. So that the rest of the It was told, that the very time of Betsy's funeral THE HOUSE JUST COLLAPSED! God had keep it strong for many years for them to enjoy, He did all that HE said he was going to do, just as He always does. It was also always told that at supper time, you can still smell Betsy's home made biscuits and chicken dumplings. What a wonderful, loving home it had been and God had blessed each of them deeply.
Written with much love , Grandma (*.*) for our little family "story project" .. still waiting for and anxious to see Anna and Kayla's stories and HOPING they will let me share them with you as well! Well, Norman is still at work for another hour and a half or so.. then it takes him nearly another hour to get home. I know it's a ride everyday. Thankfully he likes his job and is doing really better physically, and I am grateful! The doctors were right with the bit they keep talking about him needing a good daily routine to help him get well, and we are grateful for his job, and his improved health. I am glad though that we are nearly finished with the chicken coop and covered yard for them.. What a job! But he just loves his chickens... calls them "the girls" I am even going to paint the nice wooden glider that Jenna gave us and put the cushions on it to be his "chicken watching chair" LOL! Gee, it's nice enjoying the simple things of life! (and thanks Jenna for the glider and perfect cushions for his red, chicken watching chair) Lol!

As for me, I get off at 12 now through the summer.. well until school starts back on August 22..  It's really quiet in there except for the oven and the ice maker and exhaust fans.. Thankfully Brenda left me her trusty radio to listen to, and I have deeply enjoyed it! Thanks Brenda! Most days the only person I see is Ashley, and it's nice talking a few minutes to her now and then.. Today when I got off I had a mission to do. The kids ask their Dad yesterday what kind of dessert he wanted for his birthday today.. He said cantaloupe .. then we ran here and there to get him one (from them) but couldn't find anyway. So today I ran to Walmarts for coffee filters and thankfully they had nice BIG cantaloupes.. so I ran two over by there for them to have for their dad for dessert tonight! (*.*)
