TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN! MAKE THE BEST OF IT!

We went to town right after breakfast and went to a yard sale and bought a bushel of apples.. red delicious! Yum. So, guess who is going to have cooked apples tomorrow as part of lunch? We also went to a couple of other yard sales.. Funny thing was, we pulled up to one and it had a scarecrow sitting out front.. maybe 20 inches tall or so.. I told Norman, if it's NOT RAINING at home, that is what I need to do, get out some fall stuff.. We walked over and to my surprise that cute little scarecrow (looked new) was on sale for 3 dollars.. Needless to say, I gladly grabbed it up! That's one I wont have to look for.. besides scarecrows seem not to last to long, especially if you have them outside.. Well, this little fella will be an inside scarecrow! I always put a few large scarecrows and pumpkins around here and there.. Autumn table cloth on the tables in the picnic area.. And a few other decorations out and about! Then a few inside also.. I do like AUTUMN... and YES, I like the winter, it too can be beautiful! (especially if you don't have to go anywhere) And I do like winter.. "except for the cold, ice, and snow" it's pretty but then ITS COLD TOO! But makes for some awesome days of cuddling and drinking coffee or hot chocolate, and spending time together..  Thanks God, for giving us something for every season that we can enjoy, and for the beauty of the seasons!

 There is a harmony
In autumn, and a luster in its sky,
Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
As if it could not be, as if it had not been!
Percy Bysshe ShelleyIn the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb color effects as from August to November.

Well, it was cool here most of the week last week, at least the mornings were really cool! Then rain on Friday and RAIN again today.. But, I tell myself.. "its really good for the wells!" Yes, it rained a lot this summer.. but it had not rained much since.. so we could really need some rain! The animals aren't to happy about it.. The chickens are still in the pens (we had been letting them out some every day) And the cats Missy and Snookie, HomerJoe our precious dog... and the puppies Molly and Karma are still inside, and I must say they are really good puppies, especially since they will only be 14 weeks old tomorrow.. They are both cute.. Molly is white and several shades of brown.. and Karma is black and sort of a black and white mingled here and there.. Both are sweet and training well.. thankfully! All the pets are spoiled a little, because we love them. lol        Mom's cat "Snookie" sleeps with us every night... when she came out of her shell.. she really came out of it! LOL
A Fall Song by Ellen Robena Field
Golden and red trees
Nod to the soft breeze,
As it whispers, "Winter is near;"
And the brown nuts fall
At the wind's loud call,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Good-by, sweet flowers!
Through bright Summer hours
You have filled our hearts with cheer
We shall miss you so,
And yet you must go,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Now the days grow cold,
As the year grows old,
And the meadows are brown and sere;
Brave robin redbreast
Has gone from his nest,
For this is the Fall of the year.
I do softly pray
At the close of day,
That the little children, so dear,
May as purely grow
As the fleecy snow
That follows the Fall of the year.

FATHER, IN ALL THINGS, WE GIVE YOU OUR LOVE, THANKS, HONOR, GLORY IN JESUS HOLY NAME, AMEN.
