Musings on a Cemetery

As I drive down the street to work every day,
I pass by a cemetery along my way.
It’s one of the old ones with stones of each class
From sandstone to marble, some with nameplates of brass.

What a multitude of people now gone from this earth

Have their bones gathered there, no longer of worth
Did those people of old leave a mark as they went
From birth until when their remains there were sent? Were they kind or jolly; did they give alms to the poor? When they left us did someone swing wide heaven’s door? How many stories must be there, buried in time; Some must be evil, others sublime. But we know that the end of each story’s the same Nothing remains but a stone with a name.   Betty Killebrew

Strange Goings On in the Portchester Graveyard

Roger Letzer was visiting the cemetery near Portchester Castle in England and he couldn't help noticing a man kneeling in front of a gravestone, clasping his hands and sobbing. Roger went a bit closer and could hear what the man was saying. 'Why did you have to die?' he was repeating, 'Why did you have to die?' Feeling he ought to do something to alleviate the man's obvious distress Roger laid his hand on the his shoulder saying gently, 'Was it someone you loved very much?' The man looked up at him and said, 'No, I never met him, he was my wife's first husband.' (I guess if he would have lived, that the crying man wouldn't be married.. or at least NOT to that woman!) LOL...

Again, I am saying, I mean NO DISRESPECT WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH CEMETERIES, OR ANY OF THE LOVED ONES THERE.. (WE HAVE WAY TO MANY IN THE CEMETERIES for that, and wouldn't anyway!..)

BUT JUST HAVING A LITTLE HALLOWEEN HUMOR! GOD BLESS ALL WHO HAVE GONE ON BEFORE US, AND COMFORT EACH THAT ARE LEFT BEHIND...

PRAYING FOR BETTY JO, TIMMY, AND KRISTIN, PRAYING THAT THEY WILL FIND INNER PEACE AND HAPPINESS!... PRAYING FOR SHARON MAE AS SHE RECOVERS FROM HER SECOND KNEE SURGERY AND UPCOMING OTHER SURGERY!...
