(PART TWO)

He walked across the room to the bookshelf, picked up an old Bible, it was a German Bible and very old, but still very beautiful. This was my grandparents Bible, they brought it over from Germany. He opened it right to these three pictures. The writing on the backs of them were in German, so the translation will have to wait, until we find someone or somehow to tell us exactly what it says.
Then he told me that this was his "Grandmother Ursula and her husband my Grandfather Hans Klemmor. They of course were German, and came here shortly after they got married. Some friends of theirs also were married just in time for the trip and both couples moved to America, The good old USA. " "Well Granddad," I said "there was a faded old K on the post out beside the house, why was it a K?" Then he smiled and said "my parents changed the spelling of our last name in an attempt to better fit in here in the states, and to get on with life after a tragic accident. Originally it was spelled Klemmor"
So we assume that this picture of the house was their home when they first moved here. I was just a baby when they left. "What happened to your grandparents?" I ask. "Once when I was a young boy I ask my Mother that same question. She had a worried look on her face and pulled me aside. When your Dad was 19 or 20 years old or so, your grandparents were going back to the old country to bring their oldest son here to live. They left him back then, as it was frowned upon for unmarried couples to have a child, so they passed it off as her sisters son. Not long after they left, the ship they were on was presumed to be struck by lightening and everyone perished. Your Father took it very poorly and we never were allowed to speak of his parents, or their home again. So please never mention it again for fear that he may hear us talking. When his parents left, then perished, we never went back to their house again, and finally after many, many years of waiting for their return, it was as though their beloved house and everything there perished. Nothing was ever taken from that house, it went down with everything just the way they left it only much older and time does take a toll.
Then with tears in my eyes, I opened my hand once again offering my granddad his grandmothers locket. "I'm so sorry Granddad, I didn't know." He then said, "No, no child, my precious oldest granddaughter, I thank you for caring enough to ask. Maybe someday you'll be able to proudly tell your children and grandchildren this story I was unable to talk about until now." And then he added as I was walking away, "Wait, let me give you this, and he handed me the Old Family Bible, and the priceless pictures of his grandparents. Evidently God, and just perhaps my Grandmother Ursula has chosen you and this time and age to let you know about them" I hugged his neck with tears in my eyes once again, and started again to leave (to have myself a good cry of happy tears and mixed emotions). "Oh, one more thing" he said, "you've brought back to my memory that that post with the K on it was a special gift from my Granddad Hans to my grandma, see, she too loved horses, and that is where she tied her horse to water." To this day, this path always brings to my mind all the wonderful memories, both old and new, those sure to be true, and those that perhaps my mind has just thought of and wished in some way to be true. And the locket, pictures and Bible will be shone to all of those yet to come into our loving family. Thanks God for guiding me... and thanks to my Great Great Grandma Ursula for leaving your locket and pictures for me to find. (just maybe it was because we favor in appearance) I love you!

Ever see a country path and just feel so pulled to walk in and see what all it holds for you to see? Some may see it as simply an old path.. not worth the time or effort to even care what it holds.. I see it as possibly a gift from our Creator Himself, a true gift of nature.. Perhaps some beautiful wild flowers, a beautiful tree with arms lifted in praise.. or even some of His gentle animals, just waiting at that time for our eyes to behold!
