THIS IS MY GRANDMA, MRS. PEARLIE SPARKS WOODS
BUT SHE LIVED TO BE 94 YEARS OLD, AND DIED IN 1995
When I have no one to turn to
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My most favorite memory was the beef she cooked, YUM! DELICIOUS!
And her home seasoned, and home canned sausage! Also, delicious!
She had a beautiful cabinet with rounded glass in her dining room and a beautiful round claw foot table. There was a creek right behind her house, and a spring with the clearest, coldest drinking water I've ever had. She always kept a 'dipper' out there so we could get a drink.
For years, her and her second husband (we loved and always called "Granddaddy Woods" (because Dad's father had died before I was born, Dad didn't really want us to call him just Granddaddy, but he didn't care if we called him "Granddaddy Woods" so we did.
Anyway, for years they ran a road side fruit and egg stand. They raised chickens and pigs and of course a garden (they sold a lot of their own produce) plus some things she canned, and home canned jelly. She took care of her crippled, severely retarded daughter (Dad's sister, we called her Ebbie for 38 years , until she died) Then she went on and eventually lived in Liberty House Nursing Home, for nearly 20 years. She lived 5 years after Dad passed away. GOD BLESS
When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low,
When there is no one to talk to
And nowhere I want to go,
I search deep within myself
It is the love inside my heart
That lets me know my Angels are there
Even though we are miles apart.
A smile then appears upon my face
A smile then appears upon my face
And the sun begins to shine.
I hear a voice, so soft and sweet Saying,
‘Everything will be just fine’
It may seem that I am alone
But I am never by myself at all.
Whenever I need my Angels near
All I have to do is call.
An Angel’s love is always true
An Angel’s love is always true
On that you can depend.
They will always stand behind you
And will always be your friend.
Through darkest hours and brightest days
Our Angels see us through.
You are one of my Angels.
Perhaps I am one for you.
Please keep my Mom in your prayers, she continues to have breathing difficulty (even with her oxygen on) And after a while, you will see her holding her chest. I pray so much that she'll find comfort and God will touch and bless her with a much less labored breathing. And,
I am fighting a sinus infection, so keep me in your prayers too please. Any ideas to help out? Pray also for Gene, he is having problems with his feet swelling, and also an unspoken request with one of his sons.
I hate the thoughts that just last year I started out with what I thought was a sinus infection, (ended up being bronchitis) then went into double pneumonia and I broke my rib coughing, then it triggered asthma (that i didn't even know I had) and I've been on more medicines ever since. I am hoping and praying that this time, it just responds to the medicine I am taking already and goes away.
Thank You Father, for Jesus and His awesome sacrifice He made on each of our behalf. He paid for a sin He never committed (nor deserved the punishment) to cover the sins we did and we do not deserve His love and sacrifice. But we are So grateful to You and Jesus. Thank You for our late grandparents and fathers. Thank You for our Mothers, our marriage, our children and their wonderful family's, thank You for our extended family's, our church family, our friends, neighbors and co-workers. Bless each of them spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. Help us all to live pleasing to You and in Your will for our lives. Dear God, tonight I hold my Mom up to you in sincere prayer, please Father, grant her easier breathing please, and make the pain in her back and legs much more bearable. And bless JW (my brother), help his back to heal and the back surgery to be a success for him. Be with Gene also please Father, help his feet not to swell or for him to respond to whatever it is that causes the problems with his feet swelling. Also his unspoken request about his sons. Thank You God for everything You have done, are doing, and will do for us. And always, in all things we give You our thanks, and the honor, praise and glory in Jesus holy name, amen.
