NOW FOR THE QUILTS!

I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL

AND SHOW THE LOVE PUT INTO THEM..

A couple of years back, I hand quilted five quilts

for my grandchildren.. I stuffed here and there to sort

of make them 3-D (if you will) and I sewed letter beads on

them here and there to say To: "child's name"

From: Grandma and Granddad with love!

Also on one, I put every one's name on it. (actually on butterflies).

Hope that someday the grand kids with think of them as being

"special" in some sort of way...
Three were done with angels, one with butterflies, and one with

Spider man (for my only grandson)

EVER ATE A FRIED APPLE PIE?

MOM MAKES DELICIOUS PIES,

MY DAD'S AUNT DID TOO..

"MOUTH WATERING"

HERE IS ONE RECIPE, BUT NOT HERS.

BECAUSE HER'S IS IN HER MIND ; )

2 cups dried apples
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted or stirred before measuring
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
oil for deep frying
Preparation:
Cover dried apples with water; simmer, covered,

for 30 to 40 minutes. Drain and let cool.
Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder; cut in butter.

Add eggs and milk; mix to form a soft dough. Roll dough

out thin and cut into 4 circles about 5 inches in diameter.
Combine nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar.
Place 1/2 cup dried apples in the center of each circle,

sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of the sugar mixture, then fold over.

Wet edges with a little milk and seal with a fork.

Fry in a frying pan on the stove, until golden brown.

Drain well. Makes 4 fried apple pies.

THE FAMILY BIBLE
I can see us sitting round the table

when from the family Bible 'Mom' would read

I can hear my mother softly singing rock of ages

rock of ages cleft for me

There's a family Bible on the table

each page is torn and hard to read

But the family Bible on the table will ever be my key to memory

At the end of day when work was over

and when the evening meal was done

'Mom' would read to us from the family Bible

And we'd count our many blessings one by one I can see us sitting'

This old world of ours is full of trouble

but this old world would also better be

If we'd find more Bibles on the tables

and mothers singing rock of ages cleft for me

poor Mom has had many days in a row now

where she has really been feeling BAD!

Today, she was supposed to have gone to Lewis Gale

for another test, to see if a procedure would be

possible.. But she was just to sick to go..

And, during the day decided to

NOT HAVE IT DONE AT ALL!

(she says she's been though enough)

But, still IF she is feeling much better on Monday,

she is supposed (and willing) to have the fluid

removed from her lung for the third time.

It makes her feel bad for a couple of days,

but then she can breathe a little easier..

PLEASE STILL KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS,

FOR COMFORT FROM PAIN, AND EASE

FROM HER BREATHING DIFFICULTIES..........

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, foremost and always.

And thank You for Your love, Your Word, Your grace, mercies,

forgiveness, and blessings. Thank You too for inner peace.

Please be with Mom and Barbara's Mother, help both of them please.

Ease all their discomfort please and give them courage and grace.

Be with Betty Jo, Kristin and Timmy and Ashley, help them through

this extremely difficult time. Be with Buck, Breanna, Destiny, and Jeorge also

and help them with their loss. Wrap Your loving arm around all of

them and shower Your love upon them.

Draw us all closer to You Father and help us all to know that YOU are

GOD and still fully in control. We give You our love, thanks, praise,

honor and glory in Jesus Holy name, amen.
