EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT...

Everyone is important

During Mark's first month of college, the professor gave his students a pop quiz. He was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until he read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. He had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would he know her name? He handed in his paper, leaving the last question blank.

Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward the quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They each deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say 'hello'". Mark never forgot that lesson. He also learned her name was Dorothy.... So, no matter which "path" in life you take, custodian, janitor, cook, maid, plumber, trash truck driver or worker, NO MATTER WHAT.. your work is just as important (even though a lot of the time, our pay doesn't show it to be true) but it takes everyone and everyones job to keep things going properly, so we are all important! And everyone deserves respect, and kindness, perhaps even some understanding, instead of being looked down upon. True a lot of people goes to college to "be someone".. but college isn't for everyone.. and not everyone can afford to go.. but what would they be if it weren't for these others making things easier for them?  Think! Be kind, be considerate... love!

Wow! today is my second day of vacation.. And gee, do I have plans. Let's see, first I am going to pack our "shower bags" for our camping trip. Then I am going to pack our clothes (won't be so many, only for two days plus our bathing suits) Yes! I found one big enough.. and honestly a few that was TO BIG!! lol .. I have to throw in some flashlights, and our lanterns.. (we use only the battery operated lanterns anymore). Our kitchen things we keep cleaned and packed, however yesterday I added in the paper towels, kitchen towels, and some towels and things.. I still have to find one of the pillow cases for the extra bed (we bought 4 sets to use camping, two red, and two blue, but I've misplaced one of the red pillowcases??) I just need to LOOK! Also, I have to gather Norman's medicines.. except for his insulin (it has to wait until last to be put in the cooler), but the rest I can gather up and pack now. Oh my, my day is going to be a busy one.. And as usual, I will do my two loads of laundry, lol. You know that ole saying.. "a woman's work is never done..." But, we are looking forward to going.. and hopefully spend some quality time and have a lot of fun too... "MAKING MEMORIES!"

TOMORROW IS LOOKING BUSY ALSO! But in a different way! Tomorrow Homerjoe gets his bath, haircut, and flea treatment. Then I have to deal more with this HOOF AND MOUTH! First at 10:00 I have to go to the dentist again (a couple of small fillings, unless he drills 3/4 ths. of my tooth away.. lol) I'll have to take Homerjoe before I go to Clifton Forge to have that done, because his appointment is for 11:00 . But thankfully they will work with your schedule there where we have him trimmed... Thanks ladies! ... Then when I get done down at the dentist, I should have an hour or so before I need to pick Homerjoe up (or before they will be finished with him) So, I have to run and get a few things for our trip. Pick Homer up and run him all the way home.. Then at 2:15 I have to go take care of the HOOF.. hopefully a TERRIFIC shot in my heel to CLEAR up this nasty, stubborn heel spur! Oh, that would be completely WONDERFUL!  Guess I need to add for today to make a list of all that we need to make it a lot easier tomorrow, to remember it all and not leave anything out. And to make a list for Friday afternoon so we are sure to get everything packed and not leave anything out. Funny thing is, usually when you are going camping, you leave out the very most obvious things, or the most important ?? Go figure! And it's a LONNNG WAYS BACK HOME FROM THE NEW WHISPERING PINES CAMPGROUND TO OUR HOUSE.. THE WHISPERING PINES CAMPGROUND IS NOW OWNED AND OPERATED BY DOUTHAT.. looks like it will be a nice place to camp, we hope so.. the sites are large, and the shower house/ restrooms are new and nice.. So, we thought we would give it a try! I hope we all really love it!

well, we are thankful to be going on some kind of little vacation this year (and with the animals, we can't go far or long).. So, we are determined to make the very best of it.. both times we go!

 YES FOLKS, WE ARE EVEN PLANNING ON GOING SWIMMING! OF COURSE THE YOUNGER ONES HAVE ALWAYS PLANNED ON IT.. BUT WE ARE GOING TOO, LORD'S WILLING.. THANKFULLY THE KIDS CAN SWIM VERY WELL NOW, AND REALLY ENJOY GOING.."NOW JUST NOT TO BE IN THE SUN TOOO LONG!" THE SUN IS HARD ON US SNOW WHITE PEOPLE, BUT THEN AGAIN, I'VE HAD A BOUT WITH CANCER AND ONE WITH SKIN CANCER SO I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE SUN FOR VERY LONG. BUT GOOD OLE DOUTHAT HAS THAT AREA WITH TREES DOWN BY THE BEACH, SO I CAN GET OUT, AND WALK UP THERE AND SIT, OR WALK AROUND FOR AWHILE, AND STILL SEE AND WATCH EVERYONE.. WE'LL  HAVE OUR OWN PRIVATE LITTLE BEACH PARTY CELEBRATION, LOL  JUST TRYING TO BE POSITIVE AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT! I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF "MAKING AS MANY GOOD MEMORIES" AS POSSIBLE!

 MAYBE WE WILL EVEN FIND A FEW "PATHS" TO WALK AND ENJOY WHILE WE ARE THERE.. WE ALL LOVE NATURE FOR SURE, AND VERY GRATEFUL FOR ALL GOD HAS GIVING AND SHARED WITH US TO SEE AND ENJOY! A LOT OF THE AREA AROUND IS ESPECIALLY LIKE BEING WRAPPED IN HIS "NATURE" AND LOVE..
