Quiet Thanksgiving.... it's coming!

A QUIET THANKSGIVING!!! (filled with soo many wonderful MEMORIES!)And thankfully, still making many more!

Starlight has given way to the dawn of day

Mother and kittens are asleep in the hay, The old rooster is crowing with all his might As the shadows retreat to await the night. I have moments alone at this special dawn And as I look around and sleepily yawn I consider the past and where I am now, By the grace of God I made it somehow. There were good-times but many the hard And as my friend greets me in the yard I realize God has blessed me without fail And I smile at my dog wagging his tail.My old friend and I walk amidst the trees With his tail thumping against my knees And I whisper a prayer for blessings sent, God has filled me with contentment. House lights come on all at once it seems And inside are fulfilled hopes and dreams, My high-school sweetheart is calling for me,

Sixty years ago she was my bride-to-be. I linger gazing back at the autumn sunrise And tears of happiness pool in my eyes, My faithful friend thought I wanted to play As I knelt and quietly began to pray. With some difficulty I rose wiping my eyes Listening to the geese that southward flies And as I go to answer my sweetheart's call I know this is the best Thanksgiving of all. After her grand plan Thanksgiving is here, The holiday for love and family and cheer, My wife is a blue-ribbon winner at cooking

it will be Thanksgiving before we even know it now.. it's only 2 weeks away.. I think personally the thing I like most about Thanksgiving is that it's just so much more relaxed.. still very much a FAMILY thing.. still Very Special.. but it is just a time to relax and enjoy.. eat too of course.. but also to think and reflect of MEMORIES OLD AND NEW.. and thats a very important of our lives to me.. remembering our childhood, our parents, loving and missing them, and glad that Norman's mother is still doing rather well.. and is in her 86th year! Our young adult time together, as well as the quiet and gentle time we share now.. our childrens birth and them growing up.. their marriages.. their wonderful children and the LOVE!! OH YES, THE LOVE AND AGAIN.. ALL THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES, OLD AND NEW!! AND GIVING THANKS FOR EACH OF THEM..

 this is us on our 30th anniversary.. seems like no time ago... yet,

already its been another 12 years.. and as of April we have begun our 43rd year as man and wife.. AH, THE MEMORIES! ! ! Yes, some bad.. but sooo many, really good and special memories.. and WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR EACH OF THEM!!! AND GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE SPECIAL BLESSINGS GOD HAS GIVING US.. SOOO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL ABOUT THIS YEAR! AND THANKFUL WE ARE!!!

THIS IS NORMAN NOW, well, this picture is probably 4 years old or so by now.. time flies sooo fast!.. POOR FELLA HAS BEEN FEELING "OFF, TIRED" FOR A WHILE NOW.. AND WAS FEELING WORSE BY THE DAY. I TRIED TO GET HIM TO CALL HIS DOCTOR YESTERDAY TO TRY TO GET IN TO SEE HIM.. SEEMS LIKE WHEN HE GETS SICK, HE REALLY GETS SICK AND TAKES HIM LONGER TO RECOVER THAN MANY FOLKS.. FINALLY LAST NIGHT HE WAS FEELING BAD ENOUGH THAT I DID TALK HIM INTO GOING.. HE CALLED THIS MORNING AND THEY TOLD HIM TO COME ON IN (I AM GLAD TOO BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSED ON FRIDAYS) I CALLED FROM WORK TO MAKE SURE HE HAD CALLED THE DOCTOR AND TO MY SURPRISE HE HAD ALREADY BEEN THERE AND WAS WAITING TO GET HIS TWO PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED.. HE HAS A VIRUS! THE DOCTOR TOLD HIM THAT THIS VIRUS IS TAKING MANY PEOPLE UP TO 4 WEEKS TO REALLY GET OVER IT AND GET STRENGTH RE-BUILT.. SO KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

 hasn't it been chilly lately! But I am sooo grateful that we didn't get this last storm and am praying daily for all those effected by all of it.. "God bless and help each of them please and thank You" So many have lost everything (and some their lives) ... God bless!
