THE MISSING AXE.. enjoy

THE MISSING AXE

A man whose axe was missing suspected his neighbor, Mr Smith's son of stealing it.

After all, the boy walked like a thief, looked like a thief, and spoke like a thief. That boy use to try to be friendly, but now he just looks at Mr Jones, as if daring him to say something.

Or perhaps watching for what else he may take?

Mr Jones, had an uneasy feeling about the Smith boy, and could NOT shake it. After all, he had always took really good care of his tools and NEVER had he had one "missing" like his axe is! So, the Smith's little boy HAD to take it.

But the man found his axe while he was digging in the valley, trying to clear the remains of the tree he had chopped down for early spring firewood...

The next time he saw the neighbor's son, the boy walked, looked, and spoke like any other child. But even then, he never really thought of how he had ignored the boy in the weeks of late. Nor did he dwell on the fact that HE, himself was the reason the axe was "missing".

BUT, look at the way he had ignored the boy.. and all the things he had thought about him.

Wonder what the child thought of the man and his actions towards him? Wonder if he felt uncomfortable around the man? Confused as to why Mr Jones used to be friendly and kind, and now wouldn't even speak. How could he even express his feelings of how his neighbor made him feel now, when he used to be nice? And how uncomfortable would it make you feel if someone just glared at you when he used to be friendly? And just how would you expect the child to ever feel comfortable around his neighbor?

How many times does things like that happen? Ever happen to you? You know, its up to adults to set an example of trust.. not up to the child (or anyone else as far as that goes)  to earn trust before he or she is guilty of anything... Right? Actions CAN be hurtful to others, so, WE REALLY NEED TO THINK... "WOULD I WANT TO BE TREATED THAT WAY"
We need to allow God to gather us, hold us, comfort us…we need to welcome what He has to give to us, and we need to yield to what He wills for us. God knocks, and He waits for us to open; God saves, and He waits for us to believe; God leads, and He waits for us to follow; God gives, and He waits for us to receive; God speaks, and He waits for us to obey.

Norman is working again today.. he is putting in a little longer days than he was.. said he realized that you could put on a couple coats of stain in the same day as hot as it it, because the heat dries it pretty quickly! But that same "heat" drains him as well as everyone else during those same hours.. (and even late up into the night) But, I am NOT going to complain, summer seems to go by soooo quickly! We had better enjoy it while we can!

as for me, I have taken over his morning feeding chores, trying to help out some.. He loves those chickens! Calls the "the girls".. lol

And the 14 bantam chicks that was hatched earlier this spring are going to have some competition soon.. three more banty chickens are sitting.. And even though we don't need more chicks... WHO has the nerve to move those feisty little things off the eggs.. Norman tried to, and they pecked a place into his hand! "Crazy little mamas"
when Nathan wakes up, we are headed to town.. I have to run my work contract back down to the office along with running a few other errands including running to walmarts (*.*) don't know if that's good or not, but usually ends up "costing a good bit" Seems like you go in for one item, and come out with a buggy full! Nathan is headed to a pool party at his cousin's house, I think he said..
