IN LOVING MEMORY OF NORMAN SR.

IN LOVING MEMORY
OF NORMAN'S FATHER
NORMAN SR.
NOVEMBER 1926 - JUNE 14 1987
The Comfort and Sweetness of Peace
After the clouds, the sunshine,
after the winter, the spring,
after the shower, the rainbow,
for life is a changeable thing.
After the night, the morning,
bidding all darkness cease,
after life's cares and sorrows,
the comfort and sweetness of peace.

----------------------------
The kids stayed up yesterday evening
and last night. We watched a movie last
night. I don't know who laughed the hardest
Granddad or Nathan : ) Of course he still
sits between us on the love sofa to watch movies
And Abigail still sits on my lap.
They both seemed to really enjoy the time,
and we did too. We always like spending time with
our precious grandchildren, all of them.
=================
This morning, Abigail woke WIDE AWAKE
at 5:30, and went into the living room, once
she realized that she wasn't going to wake Nathan up.
So,I laid and listened to her (in the living room)
for a little while, then got on up at 6:00.
Can you believe that, and I was off today..
But I, like her, once we were awake, that was that!
Norman got on up around 8:00 and later for Nathan.
But by 8:45, she was ready to go back to bed, and did..
She told me, "Grandma, wake me up at 9:00 and no
later than 9:01" , ha, but then she slept until after 10:00.
================
She sat here a good while this afternoon and
dressed and re-dressed her two dolls.
They are old dolls, They are very special and unique.
One is at least 25+ years, and the other one is even older.
We did order them new wigs and glued them on..
(their hair was beyond help) She named them
Joe and Rosie!
Rosie we found at a yard sale, and Joe was one that
my Mom gave Abigail (so I make her take extra good
care of them)... we've also bought them a lot of cute
baby clothes (they wear newborn size).. and she had
socks, shoes, bottles, diapers and all for them.
She plays with them at times, but not as much as
I played with dolls when I was her age. I loved
the baby dolls (not the older type dolls) and she's
the same way.
+++++++++++++++++
Nathan has been playing between the PS2 and
the computer. And now, he and Granddad are watching
an old western... "Granddad's favorites", (westerns)
================
Please keep Leisa still in your prayers,
she now has a re-occurrence of shingles. and still
needs her surgery! Thanks for the prayers.

Norman sat here and looked through a huge box of
pictures, and through our albums.. Lot's of memories
there in both places . GOD BLESS!
"THANKS GOD FOR THE MEMORIES"

PRECIOUS MEMORIES
Precious memories how they linger,
How they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight.
Precious sacred scenes unfold.

LET'S NOT FORGET FLAG DAY
The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television
program as he related the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his
students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely
something to recite in class each day.
Now, more than ever, listen to the meaning of these words.
"I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance
all semester and it seems as though it is becoming
monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain
to you the meaning of each word?"
I
me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge
dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
Allegiance
my love and my devotion.
To the flag
our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever
she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given
her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job!

of the United
that means that we have all come together.
States of America
individual communities that have united into 48 great states.
Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and
purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to
a common purpose, and that's love for country.
And to the republic
a state in which sovereign power is
invested in representatives chosen by the
people to govern. And government is the people
and it's from the people to the leaders, not from
the leaders to the people.
For which it stands, one nation
UNDER GOD
one nation, meaning "so
blessed by God"

Indivisible
incapable of being divided.
With liberty
which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's
own life without threats, fear or some sort of
retaliation.
And Justice
the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all
which means, boys and girls, it's as much your
country as it is mine.
***~~**~~***
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country
and two words have been added to the pledge of Allegiance...
UNDER GOD
Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said
that is a prayer
and that would be eliminated from schools too?
God Bless America And Keep Her In Your Prayers!
-------------------------------
Thank you for your prayers, you are also in
our daily prayers. If you would like to post a
comment on this, or any post in my blog, please
feel free to do so. I look forward to hearing from you.
HAVE A GREAT EVENING AND
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS
