EVER HEARD OF "APPLES" THE COMFORT FOOD?

NO! I DON'T MEAN EATING APPLES AS A COMFORT FOOD,

IT IS A COMFORT TO MY DEAR MOM, US JUST

SITTING IN THE EVENINGS "PEALING" APPLES..

We have already pealed many bushels, and still have about two

more to go.. We peal them, she bags them with sugar and fruit fresh

and she gives them away to family members!

Or even those that are family members of the heart!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And she is known for those delicious

fried apple pies! YUM!!!

She talks about many many things, and I listen..

just seems so special to her..

Some things are hard to hear (about her illness and

the future) Some she wants to say to someone

about "WHEN I AM GONE..."

But, no matter, I listen and just talk to and with her.

Encouraging her whenever possible..

And thankful and glad to be of some

comfort to her, especially at this time.

She says to me..."some of the kids just cant or

won't hear what all I have to say, or want to say,

then she will thank me for allowing her to say them"

Sure, I'll go help, every time that I can..

And I'll be thankful of the special time with her,

just pealing those apples : )

Bless her precious heart, today she didn't feel like

pealing apples. She felt so bad! And in so much pain

in her left side : ( just makes ya feel so helpless.

We were there for a good little while, just letting her sleep,

and there also when she woke up..

We sat out on the back deck with Jenna, Jim,

and Gene this evening and had good conversation

while she slept inside in the quiet.

I would love to make it better for her, but just cant. : (

Today, we didn't peal apples,

She laid and slept, due to her medications (in part), thankfully

and woke up feeling a little better in the late evening.

She has a time sleeping at night anymore due to pain : (

GOD BLESS AND COMFORT HER PLEASE!

I bet that for many years to come,

I will always think of her and her "comfort"

whenever I see apples...

But then that is just one of the many reasons

I will think of her, I'm sure.

Thank You God, for the special time we are sharing,

and have shared together, and will share even yet.

HOW PRECIOUS SHE IS!

And, How Very Precious They Are.

Hope this remains such a special memory,

and that it can continue with many other things

as well (other than apples, when they are gone)

And we (many of us are going to be working

on some special quilts soon) and hopefully making

even more precious memories...
